Markus Pihlström is a trained economist and has worked in banking and insurance for 15 years. He has always been interested in sports. At first, his life was about hockey, he played at a high level and after finishing his career he became a coach for the Timrå IK hockey team. He is married to Katrin and together they have a son, Oliver.

For the past 15 years, his professional career has been different, Markus Pihlström has been working as a trotting trainer. Today he is one of the elite trotting trainers in the country. His greatest achievement in trotting is the world record for two-year-old mares. The world record was set with the horse Quuen Tresher and the driver Ulf Ohlsson behind the levers. Today, Pihlstöm is an established trainer, he is one of the top 20 trotting stables in Sweden.
